Best of the year 2024

Every year, I take time to reflect—going through every wedding I’ve photographed, pulling together my favourite images, and revisiting the moments that made me stop and think, this is why I do this. It’s a process that keeps me inspired, but also one that gives couples considering booking me a true sense of how I document a wedding day—the scenes I gravitate towards, the emotions I chase, and the way I see things unfold.

It’s now been 6 years since I picked up a camera and photographed my first wedding, and while the industry has evolved over that time, and styles and gear have changed, the essence of what drives me remains the same: capturing real, unscripted moments in a way that feels both natural and visually compelling. The compelling part is most important, some people think candid photos just means snap shots of people standing around looking bored, or looking unflattering. It’s actually very difficult to capture natural candid looking photos and make them aesthetically interesting, or create an image that tells a story, makes you feel a certain way, or just simply make you laugh and smile.

The best images—the ones that stay with me long after the wedding day—are rarely the expected, orchestrated moments. Instead, they’re the fleeting, unscripted ones. The stolen glances, the quiet in-betweens, the scenes that most people miss but hold the real essence of the day. I could never script the photos I take because they go beyond anything I could imagine. I love that people are unpredictable—that’s what keeps me inspired. It pushes me to stay curious, embrace spontaneity, and take creative risks, ensuring every wedding feels fresh, exciting, and completely unique.

Looking back at 2024, there were so many unforgettable moments. One of the highlights of my year was an incredible trip to Tuscany, Italy, for a destination wedding—waking up to breathtaking landscapes and spending three days on-site with all the guests made it an experience like no other. Then there was Scarlett’s dad rowing her down a stream to meet her groom—because who needs an aisle when you have a boat? Or Olivia and Chris, cruising through Clissold Park on a cargo bike, tinnies in hand, radiating pure joy. These are the moments that remind me why I love what I do.

So here’s to another year of storytelling, of chasing the unknown, and of capturing love in all its unscripted beauty. To all my 2024 couples—thank you for letting me be part of your day. And to those ahead in 2025, I can’t wait to tell your story.
